Your active Kenya safari begins with a morning departure from Nairobi, heading directly into the heart of the Great Rift Valley. Your first destination is the spectacular Hell’s Gate National Park, famous for its towering cliffs, geothermal activity, and lack of predators, making it one of the only parks in Africa where you can safely explore by bicycle. Here, you'll embark on a thrilling guided cycling safari, pedaling along dirt tracks amidst grazing herds of zebra, buffalo, wildebeest, and gazelle. This unique Hell's Gate National Park day trip offers unparalleled photo opportunities and a true sense of adventure. After your cycle, you'll transfer to the beautiful Lake Naivasha Muthu Country Club for a welcome lunch overlooking the water. The afternoon is yours to relax by the pool or stroll the guarded grounds, where hippos often graze in the evenings. Dinner and your first overnight stay are at the resort, completing a perfect first day of your Naivasha tour.
After breakfast at the resort, a short drive brings you to the pristine Crescent Island Game Sanctuary. This private sanctuary on Lake Naivasha is a haven for wildlife and offers one of Kenya's most intimate safari experiences: a guided walking safari. With no predators present, you can safely walk freely among large populations of graceful giraffes, herds of zebra, and numerous antelope species. This Crescent Island tour allows for incredible, up-close animal encounters and photography. Following your walk, you'll experience the lake from a different perspective on a tranquil 1-hour boat ride.
